Problems with Impurities
PROBLEM: |
CAUSE: |
SOLUTION, REMEDY |
1) The water is "green" but clear.
|
a) Traces of iron from water filling (water is green/yellow) |
Shock chlorination Design: 1) regulate the pH value 2) eg dissolve the rapidly soluble granules for rapid chlorination and add it to the water |
2) The water is brown and cloudy |
high iron content in pool water/corroding iron parts |
According to point no.1 |
3) The water is milky and cloudy |
a) organic impurities |
a) Shock fine as point no.1 |
4) The water is black-brown and cloudy |
The high manganese content in the water, possible due to groundwater |
According to point no.1 |
5) The water is opaque green |
The pool walls are green and slippery, growing algae |
Shock chlorinate according to item 1 and add anti-algae preparation |
6) The walls of the pool are rough |
Scale deposits cause water hardness (lime) |
Remove deposits with the preparation or drain the pool and use an acidic pool cleaner. Adjust pH to 7.0-7.4 |
7) The irritating smell of chlorine |
Chlorine is bound in water Chloramine |
Superchlorination - means to chlorinate such water to 10 times higher content of free chlorine than you measured bound. |
8) Water foams strongly (in countercurrent systems) |
The water contains a strong foaming algicide, remnants of wintering agents, or cleaning agents |
Add more freshwater, do not use household cleaners, use antifoams |
9) Corrosion |
a) The pH value is too low (b) traces of copper in the water |
a) increasing the pH to 7.0-7.4 b) according to item no.1 |
